WELCOME

Hello and welcome to Niceville, Valparaiso and our Bay Area.  On behalf of the Chamber staff and our members, I want to thank you for expressing an interest in our community. The Niceville, Valparaiso area is simply a wonderful place to live, conduct business, and enjoy the many natural resources surrounding us. Our friendly people, small town atmosphere and superior quality of life are the reasons we are all proud to call this beautiful place home.

Niceville and Valparaiso are located on the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay. This provides our residents with plenty of opportunities for waterfront dining, swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing and picnicking. In addition, a short drive across the Mid-Bay Bridge will allow you to visit the famous sugar white beaches of the Emerald Coast.

We are extremely proud to be the home of Eglin Air Force Base, the largest land base in the United States Military.  Eglin is a valued business partner employing a large number of service men and women.  Because of the base, our area is the home of many businesses and contractors supporting Eglin’s missions.  In addition to Eglin, Duke Field is located just a few miles North and Hurlburt Field just a few miles to our West. The locations of both Niceville and Valparaiso have given us the name “The Center of Business” for Okaloosa County.

Should you be interested in our educational system, the schools in our county are among the best in the state and continue to receive excellent ratings. Our cities are home to four public elementary schools, two public middle schools, one public high school, and one private Christian school, educating students from preschool to senior high. Northwest Florida State College, a fully accredited four year college, offers multiple degrees to meet your higher education needs.  It is also the home of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center, which hosts many cultural events, including Broadway productions and symphony performances.

For the sporting enthusiast, Niceville and Valparaiso are home to many recreational facilities and sporting clubs for the entire family. We take pride in giving youth the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports through organizations such as PAL Soccer, Little League Baseball & Softball, or Upward Basketball and Upward Soccer at the First United Methodist Church.  Finally, with some of the finest courses in Northwest Florida, our region will not disappoint the golfing enthusiast!

In closing, I welcome you to our beautiful area, “The Center of Business” with the best quality of life!  Please stop by or call the Chamber of Commerce for any additional information.

Sincerely,

Philippe F. Miceli
